Commitments

Working towards sustainable development involves going beyond our duty to comply with laws and regulations governing our activities. It means understanding the trends and priorities of the population and adhering to applicable global conventions and commitments in each operating location, such as climate, biodiversity, and human rights issues. It also means ensuring the proper management of the socio-environmental risks of our operations.

Check out our sustainability commitments below:

We operate with ethics, integrity, and transparency because these are essential requirements for the organization.
We contribute to the development of the economy by delivering services necessary to society, generating tangible and intangible results for clients, shareholders, financiers, suppliers, team members, and communities.
We understand that people, both inside and outside Ocyan, are the agents of transformation with the capacity to identify and implement the sustainable development model suitable for each environment where we operate.
We make decisions on projects and services considering life cycles in each case, rational use of natural resources and cleaner technologies, efficient control of greenhouse gas emissions, reduction of waste and inefficiencies, mitigation of environmental impacts, and protection of ecosystems and biodiversity.
We extend benefits to the communities surrounding our business units, harmonizing the achievement of economic results with social development.
We contribute to the preservation and valorization of the memory, history, and cultural heritage of Brazil in the communities where we operate.

SOCIOENVIRONMENTAL

RESPONSIBILITY

Through Socioenvironmental Responsibility, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainable development, guiding our business to generate positive results for the communities where we operate and society at large. This commitment fosters socioenvironmental and economic development in a balanced, responsible, and transparent manner.

In 2020, we launched the Ocyan Socio Environmental Platform, which materializes our interaction with the people in the areas where we operate. With structured management work, the platform now receives new projects focused on two lines of action: Local and Human Development and Environmental and Climate Proactivity.

  • Local and Human Development. This line of action considers the strategic axis of valuing social and economic capital, inspired by Ocyan's corporate positioning of continuously expanding benefits to the communities around Business Units. The focus is on creating socio environmental programs that drive a new mindset among team members and the community, providing:
  • Financial and social inclusion
  • Promotion of diversity and inclusion
  • Development of local skills through education, culture, sports, and professional qualification
  • Environmental and Climate Proactivity. This line of action considers the strategic axis of valuing natural capital, directly related to Ocyan's public commitment.

Projects aim to impact present and future generations, focusing on environmental care, education, professional qualification, social inclusion, access to knowledge, and attention to coastal biodiversity.

Other important fronts of social investment include family farming, safeguarding natural and cultural heritage, reducing negative environmental impact, supporting territories, traditional peoples and communities, social inclusion, and access to knowledge about science, climate change, and coastal biodiversity regeneration.

Ocyan promotes transparency in activities developed with the encompassed communities, building a relationship of trust through the publication of a public report with information on the initiatives developed.
